Kvaser awarded GSA Contract Schedule

Sewell Direct’s partnership with Kvaser gives government agencies direct access to Kvaser interfaces via GSA

Mission Viejo, CA – 12th April 2010

Kvaser Inc., a leading provider of controller area network (CAN) interfaces and software, is pleased to announce that through US-based Qualified Reseller Sewell Direct (Orem, UT), it has been awarded a General Services Administration (GSA) contract number. As a result, Kvaser products can now be found on GSA’s Schedule 70 contract under Special Item Number (SIN) 132-8, which covers the purchase of new IT equipment.

The GSA Schedule allows government agencies to use GSA’s online procurement website (www.gsaadvantage.gov) to obtain products from authorized vendors at best value. Many of Kvaser’s most popular products are already available through GSA Advantage, including the Kvaser Leaf/Leaf Professional USB interface for CAN and Local Interconnect Network (LIN), Kvaser PCIcanX and Kvaser PC104 interfaces, plus the Kvaser Blackbird WLAN/CAN interface.

Sewell Direct already supplies connectivity hardware to government agencies through the GSA program, representing a select group of top names that include Gefen, Epiphan, Quatech and of-course, Kvaser. Preston Wily, President of Sewell Direct commented: “We are very excited to be partnering with Kvaser to offer their line of CAN products directly to government buyers. This is a market in which we see vast growth potential over the next five years, particularly in the government sector.â€

"With existing customers in the US Navy, US Army, and several government contractors, a number of government agencies are already familiar with Kvaser’s CAN products. Working in partnership with Sewell Direct, we look forward to bringing our deep CAN expertise to a broader audience through the GSA, and to simplifying the process by which these agencies can purchase our products," said Tammy Purdy, General Manager of Kvaser Inc.
