How to configure the CANalyzer (or CANoe) for more than two channels

The CANalyzer (CANoe) is by default configured to use two CAN channels. If you want to use more CAN channels, follow the steps below.

Step 1:

Open the Control Panel and double-click on "CAN Hardware." Click the "App Settings" button.

Step 2:

Select an application and fill out the desired number of channels for that application. Click Done. This will create logical channels that the application can use.

Step 3:

Now you assign the logical channels to the available physical channels. Select a physical channel, right-click and select the logical channel to assign.

In this example, channel 1 on the second LAPcan will be known as channel 3 in the CANalyzer, and channel 2 on the same LAPcan will be known as channel 4.

Step 4:

In CANalyzer (or CANoe,) select the Configure | CAN Channels menu. Fill in the desired number of channels.

Step 5:

That's it!  You should now see the desired number of channels in the measurement setup window in the CANalyzer.
