Background Information:
Windows NT 4.0 and earlier provides a limited support for PCMCIA cards. Many newer portable computers have a CardBus interface which normally is backward-compatible with the PCMCIA standard. On some platforms, however, there CardBus interface is not backwards compatible with the PCMCIA standard. Such computers are not supported by Windows NT 4.0 or older, and as a consequence of this, we can't support these computers either. We expect Microsoft to
have a much improved PCMCIA/CardBus support in Windows 2000.
Q: How do I tell if my computer's PCMCIA slot is supported by Windows NT?
A: Open the Control Panel and double-click on the "Devices" icon. Scroll through the list, and if there's an entry reading
then there's a good chance that your computer's PCMCIA slot and NT are happy together.
