Problem

When I installed KVASERīs LAPcan driver on my computer (with Win98) it suddenly went very slow (it takes quite some time before CANalyzer, DIAdem starts for example).

KVASER CANLIB 3.3 or later.

1) Start the Windows Registry editor!
   regedit.exe (In Win98: Start -> Run -> type "regedit.exe")

2) Doubleclick "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"

3) Doubleclick "SOFTWARE".

4) Doubleclick "KVASER AB".

5) Doubleclick "CANdriver 1.0".

6) Doubleclick "Drivers".

7) Now you will find a number of hardwares (typically, can be more):

       kcanx, vcanx = LAPcan
       kcanv, vcanv = Virtual Drivers
       kcanc        = Simulated channels for Creator
       kcane        = USBcan II

8) If you expand (click on each of them) there is a variable called "MaxCards".

9) Change the contents of each of them to, for example "2" (for all entries found).

10) Now everything is much faster, hopefully!

CANLIB 3.2 or older and Vector CANcardX compatible drivers ("LAPcan pretends to be a CANcardX"-drivers (Scandinavian customers mainly))

1) Start the Windows Registry editor!
   regedit.exe (In Win98: Start -> Run -> type "regedit.exe")

2) Doubleclick "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"

3) Doubleclick "SOFTWARE".

4) Doubleclick "VECTOR".

5) Doubleclick "CANdriver 1.0".

6) Doubleclick "Drivers".

7) Now you will find a number of hardwares (typically, can be more):

       kcanx, vcanx = LAPcan
       kcanv, vcanv = Virtual Drivers
       kcanc        = Simulated channels for Creator
       kcane        = USBcan II

8) If you expand (click on each of them) there is a variable called "MaxCards".

9) Change the contents of each of them to, for example "2" (for all entries found).

10) Now everything is much faster, hopefully!
