Automotive endurance testing is an important part of the vehicle development process, and Audi has pinned its name and reputation on delivering high-performance, highly-engineered and dependable vehicles.

We were honored when the manufacturer chose Kvaser hardware and Kvaser Technical Associate RA Consulting’s advanced diagnostic software and hardware to power their automotive endurance testing operations at their test facility in Neckarsulm, outside of Stuttgart.

The application required reliable communication and data-collection between a vehicle undergoing endurance testing, and a computer running DiagRA D diagnostic software over a distance of up to 100 meters. After exploring other options, Audi’s engineers settled on our recently-launched DIN Rail SE400S-X10, a multichannel, programmable Ethernet to CAN/CAN FD interface for DIN Rail mounting.

Patrick Guhl of Audi’s Neckarsulm facility noted, “The DIN Rail SE400S-X10 promised low installation effort, as it was voltage, LAN and OBD ready, and it’s top-hat rail mounted form-factor meant that it could be easily integrated into existing systems.”
